Kirtan or devotional chanting is a rich tradition whose roots go back over 500 years and beyond in India and other spiritual traditions. It is a simple and beautiful practice that has the ability to quiet the chattering mind, open the heart and take us into a sweet, deep silence within.
Join us for an afternoon of kirtan and sacred music with Sita’s Light and lend your voice to a community singing together to uplift and heal, supported by the eclectic sounds of harmonium, tabla, guitar and assorted percussion. No experience necessary and absolutely no vocal experience necessary either; only a willingness to be moved into the heart and experience peace and joy.
Please bring mat/cushion/blankets for floor seating. Chairs will also be available. Feel free to invite family and friends!
This event is sponsored by the Oxford Creative Center.
